GNM | General Nursing and Midwifery

GNM stands for (General Nursing and Midwifery) and focuses on educating nursing students on the topics of general health care and midwifery. General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a three-year programme aimed to prepare students to work effectively as members of the health team. This job-oriented programme comprises subjects like Nursing Fundamentals Anatomy & Physiology Psychology Biology Sociology and First Aid. The programme trains students to closely assess the nursing need of the patients monitor the condition of patients provide effective nursing care and assist the doctors in surgical procedures. The students learn to set up medical equipment in operation theatres and adeptly handle patients during emergency situations. The aspirants are additionally trained to be job-ready by imbibing computer and interpersonal skills which help them in advancing their role. After successful completion of the programme the students are enrolled for an internship that enables them to directly gain hands-on experience in esteemed organisations. Through a culture of patient-first the students are encouraged to possess unique qualities of character and spirit.

The Course is affiliated to HNB Medical Education University Recognised by Indian Nursing council (INC) & Uttarakhand Nurses and Midwifery Council.

Curriculum
The Curriculum and the Syllabus for the course shall be as prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission To The Course
10+2 passed preferably Science(PCB) & English with an aggregate of 50% marks and up to matric. 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Healthcare Science – Vocational Stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under PSEB/CBSE/ICSE or other equivalent Board with 50% marks. 10+2 with English in vocational ANM Course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 50% marks. Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council. Commencement of The Course
The course will commence with effect from August 2020 for the current academic year.
